Browser Problems
If you are unable to use your browser once you are connected
through OSUWeb.net, try the following:
If you are running on a PC -
- go to the Start menu, pull the cursor up to Settings,
and then over to Control Panel
- when you have opened the Control Panel, double-click
on the Network icon
- Go to TCP/IP, then to Dial Up Adapter
- Click on Dial Up Adapter, and then click on the
Properties button.
- Click on the IP Address tab. It should have a dot
next to Obtain IP Address Automatically.
- Click on the WINS Configuration tab. It should
have a dot next to Disable WINS Resolution
- Click on the DNS Configuration tab. It should have
a dot next to Disable DNS
- Click OK or Close until you are out of Network
Configuration.
Configuration Note: If you changed
anything during the above-described process, your computer will
most likely ask you to reboot your computer, and you might
need your windows disk. After you reboot, everything should
be up and ready to go. Dial in and try to access the internet.
If all the settings seem correct (as described above),
but you still are unable to browse the web, please email us
at osuweb@osu.edu
with a brief description of the problem, and we'll respond
as soon as possible.
