ISDN Issues
An ISDN modem is similar to a regular dial-in modem with one exception: An ISDN modem can make two connections to an Internet Provider at once, combine the data streams into one data source, and providing a faster connection to the Internet.
An ISDN telephone line is essentially two telephone lines going through one telephone cord. The two lines can be used at the same time in order to make multiple connections with an ISDN modem.
When ISDN users dial in to OSUWeb.net, they connect twice, and are being charged for the amount of time of each connection. For instance: If someone connects on both ISDN lines for 2 hours, then they are logged in for a total of 4 hours.
UNITS does not provide ISDN lines to those wishing to use ISDN services. If you wish to use an ISDN connection, please contact your local phone provider to inquire about pricing for an ISDN telephone line.
