Setting up your PC to dial into the
OSUWEB.NET ISP

The following instructions assume some general knowledge of Windows Operating system. The screens are from Windows 98 but the steps will apply to Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT.

Before attempting to connect to the ISP, check the Dial-Up Connection Properties. Open My Computer, then RIGHT-CLICK on the osuweb icon. Select Properties.

The General tab of the Properties screen should have the following:

Area Code: 614
Telephone Number: 247-7100
Country Code: United States of America (1)
Connect using: Standard Modem

The Server Types tab of the Properties screen should have the following:

Type of Dial-up Server: PPP, Internet, Windows NT Server, Windows 98
Make sure following boxes are checked and none other than these:

Press the TCP/IP Settings button on the Server Types Tab. The dialog box should have following buttons selected:

Check: Server assigned IP address
Check: Server assigned name server addresses
Check: Use IP header compression
Check: Use default gateway on remote network

If there are any IP address assignments in this box, select the buttons for Server assigned IP address and Name Server Addresses.

Press OK and close all the boxes and windows. You are now ready to connect to OSUWweb.net.
